History: ABD Foodgrains
ITC-ABD commenced its Foodgrains operations in 1990, where non-basmati rice exports was still regulated by the Government with Minimum Export Prices (MEPs). Traditional markets then went to the Middle East and Russia. Subsequently with emerging liberalisation, these regulations were eased and Indian non-basmati exports improved and found new markets.
ITC-ABD had developed sound expertise in areas of developing strong backward linkage on the supply chain with farmers, millers and processors. Today this procurement network covers major rice producing states in India and over 3000 rice millers and processors.
The total volume handled over the years has been in excess of 7,50,000 mts of Cargo. ITC-ABD has developed a loyal customer base in markets like Kuwait, Jordan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Africa, etc. ITC-ABD has also won awards from the Government of India for excellence in their export performance.
